3D PRINTING FAQ

WHAT 3D PRINTER SHOULD I GET TO MAKE X?

3D printing can be a bit daunting not to mention expensive to get started in. While we need all the help we can get, 3D Printing is meant as a stopgap and not a solution to the problem. From our experience, the best printers to get for the purpose of making face shields and other medical components are the Prusa MK3 and the Creality Ender 3. Note that due to increased demand, printers and filament may not be redialy avalible. For this reason, we recomend that you volenteer on some of the other ways mentioned on our homepage

WHAT 3D MODEL SHOULD I PRINT?

We currently recommend the 3DVerkstan shield to be printed at home. This design prints quickly on almost any printer and does not require other supplies such as elastic to stay on your head. There are currently two US versions certified for use, the 3 hole punch and 6 hole punch version. While we can offer limited troubleshooting for the 3DVerk shield, we recommend checking out the download website for full details.

I HAVE A BETTER FILE. SHOULD I MAKE THAT INSTEAD?

At this time, the 3DVerkstan shield design is one of the few shields approved by the NIH for use in medical facilities. We are always looking for new designs to be iterated upon and ask that you email us to discuss design changes.

If you have any additional questions, please get in touch.
